Pictou County District RCMP is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Sherbrooke Rd. in Eden Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On February 5, 2023, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Pictou County District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Sherbrooke Rd. in Eden Lake. RCMP officers learned that a Toyota Corolla had been travelling on Sherbrooke Rd. when it left the roadway and struck a ditch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A passenger, a 16-year-old from Pictou, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries. They were transported to local hospital by EHS and then transferred to a hospital in Halifax by LifeFlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 18-year-old driver from Scotch Hill and a second passenger, a 17-year-old from Pictou, suffered minor injuries and were transported to hospital. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sherbrooke Rd. was closed temporarily but has since reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
