{"id":5771,"date":"2023-11-15T16:03:13","date_gmt":"2023-11-15T19:03:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=5771"},"modified":"2023-11-15T16:03:14","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T19:03:14","slug":"man-charged-with-possession-for-the-purpose-of-trafficking-following-theft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2023\/11\/15\/man-charged-with-possession-for-the-purpose-of-trafficking-following-theft\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Charged With Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Following Theft."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Colchester County District RCMP has charged a man with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking following a theft from a hardware store in Truro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On November&nbsp;13, at approximately&nbsp;2:30&nbsp;p.m., Colchester County District RCMP, assisted by RCMP Northeast Traffic Services, responded to a report of theft that occurred at a hardware store on Robie St. RCMP officers learned that two people stole merchandise before fleeing the scene in a Hyundai Genesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An RCMP officer quickly located the suspect vehicle, which was occupied by one man, in a nearby parking lot. The man was safely arrested after he attempted to reverse over a retaining wall and got stuck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the&nbsp;36-year-old Dartmouth man was searched, RCMP officers located and seized more than&nbsp;30&nbsp;grams of Methamphetamines, a knife and stolen batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lawrence Donald Cameron has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamines)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operation of a Conveyance while Impaired by Drug<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assault a Peace Officer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Theft<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Cameron appeared in Truro Provincial Court yesterday and was remanded in custody. He&#8217;s scheduled to return in court on November&nbsp;22,&nbsp;2023, at&nbsp;9:30&nbsp;a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation is ongoing; officers are searching for the second suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Colchester County DistrictRCMP at\u00a0902-896-5000.
