{"id":6999,"date":"2024-05-05T12:41:03","date_gmt":"2024-05-05T15:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=6999"},"modified":"2024-05-05T12:41:05","modified_gmt":"2024-05-05T15:41:05","slug":"police-investigate-fatal-atv-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/05\/05\/police-investigate-fatal-atv-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Investigate Fatal ATV Crash."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guysborough County District RCMP is investigating a fatal ATV crash that occurred yesterday in South Merland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On May&nbsp;4, at approximately&nbsp;6:18&nbsp;p.m., Guysborough County District RCMP received a report of a single ATV crash that had just occurred off South Merland Rd. Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers learned that an ATV with two occupants was travelling north on a dirt road parallel to Hwy.&nbsp;16&nbsp;towards Upper Big Tracadie when it crashed and rolled over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the ATV, a&nbsp;62-year-old Upper Big Tracadie man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Antigonish by ambulance and then flown to a hospital in Halifax by EHS LifeFlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The passenger of the ATV, a&nbsp;53-year-old Antigonish man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia&#8217;s Medical Examiner Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Source : RCMP Release <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guysborough County District RCMP is investigating a fatal ATV crash that occurred yesterday in South Merland.
