On Saturday May 18, 2024, at approximately 12:22 pm, New Glasgow Regional Police received a report of a male with a knife at a business on Westville Road New Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When police officers arrived on scene, they immediately evacuated a business and continued to evacuate the Highland Square Mall premises. A complete search of the area was conducted in the area where the man was immediately located on Westville Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man was immediately arrested without incident and appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man did not display a knife during the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 25-year-old male was charged with,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Theft under $5000.00
Possession of Stolen Property
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Resist Arrest
The man was released upon conditions the next day and will be attending Provincial Court in Pictou at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
