{"id":7287,"date":"2024-05-31T15:57:25","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T18:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=7287"},"modified":"2024-05-31T15:58:02","modified_gmt":"2024-05-31T18:58:02","slug":"police-charge-21-year-old-with-7-offences-and-multiple-counts-related-to-vehicle-pedestrian-collision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/05\/31\/police-charge-21-year-old-with-7-offences-and-multiple-counts-related-to-vehicle-pedestrian-collision\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Charge 21 Year Old With 7 Offences and Multiple Counts Related to Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has charged a man involved in a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred in Beaver Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday, at approximately&nbsp;2:55&nbsp;a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, fire and EHS responded to a report of a collision involving pedestrians on Windgate Dr. RCMP officers learned that a gathering was taking place at a home near the&nbsp;900&nbsp;block when an altercation took place between several people who were known to each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The altercation became physical when a man, involved in the altercation, first attempted to steal one vehicle and then successfully stole a Mazda CX-5. While fleeing the scene the man struck three pedestrians with the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The victims, a&nbsp;23-year-old Beaver Bank man, a&nbsp;51-year-old Beaver Bank woman and a&nbsp;32-year-old man from Nova Scotia, all suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later that morning, the CX-5&nbsp;and the man were located in Sydney by Cape Breton Regional Police. The&nbsp;21-year-old Middle Sackville man was safely arrested and transported back to the Halifax Regional Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clinton Reteff,&nbsp;21, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assault (two counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assault with a Weapon (three counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uttering Threats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Theft of Motor Vehicle (two counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operation Causing Bodily Harm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failure to Comply with a Probation Order<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failure to Comply with a Court Order (three counts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reteff was held in custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Source : RCMP Release <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has charged a man involved in a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred in Beaver Bank.
