{"id":7329,"date":"2024-06-05T07:02:43","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T10:02:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=7329"},"modified":"2024-06-05T07:02:44","modified_gmt":"2024-06-05T10:02:44","slug":"students-from-primary-to-12-to-receive-ns-loyal-vouchers-for-farmers-markets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/06\/05\/students-from-primary-to-12-to-receive-ns-loyal-vouchers-for-farmers-markets\/","title":{"rendered":"Students From Primary to 12 to Receive NS Loyal Vouchers for Farmers\u2019 Markets."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students from grades Primary to 12 will receive Nova Scotia Loyal vouchers to help them discover Nova Scotian products at local farmers\u2019 markets this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The $10 voucher, to be distributed in public schools this month, can be redeemed toward any locally grown, harvested or crafted product at participating farmers\u2019 markets around the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFarmers\u2019 markets are community hubs that can provide wonderful learning opportunities for students,\u201d said Susan Corkum-Greek, Minister of Economic Development. \u201cThese markets showcase the diversity of products produced here and emphasize the benefits of buying and supporting local, including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions related to transportation and improved food security.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school voucher program is a partnership between Nova Scotia Loyal and the Farmers\u2019 Markets of Nova Scotia aimed at attracting new customers. Nova Scotia Loyal is designed to make it easier to identify Nova Scotia products and provide incentives for consumers to support local businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government will share more on Nova Scotia Loyal this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Quotes:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re happy to see more families encouraged to enjoy the benefits of buying local foods from farmers\u2019 markets. These vouchers will bring students and their parents, or caregivers, through the doors of farmers\u2019 markets, in some cases for the very first time.
