Police have charged a man in relation to the thefts and resale of multiple vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In February 2023, the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation into the trafficking of stolen, re-vinned vehicles into Nova Scotia from the province of Alberta. Investigators were assisted in the investigations by the \u00c9quit\u00e9 Association, Public Services and Procurement Canada Forensic Accounting Management Group, Calgary Police Service, New Brunswick RCMP and members from the Integrated Guns and Drugs Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On March 17, 2023, officers stopped the suspect in one of the stolen vehicles. The vehicle was seized and approximately one pound of cocaine was found in the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the course of the investigation, officers charged the suspect on March 15, 2024, and were able to recover approximately $1 million in stolen, re-vinned vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeffrey Robert MacNeil, 41, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:
\u2022Possession of property obtained by crime (x 9)
\u2022Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking (x 9)
\u2022Trafficking in property obtained by crime (x 9)
\u2022Fraud over $5000 (x 9)
\u2022Laundering the proceeds of crime
\u2022Possession of a forged document
\u2022Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
