New Glasgow Regional Police charge driver and passenger with multiple offenses after traffic stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a driver and passenger, both from Pictou County with multiple offences following a traffic stop in the Trenton Park parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 22, 2024, at approximately 10:42 pm, New Glasgow Regional Police while on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop on a 2023 Kia Sportage vehicle in the parking lot of the Trenton Park, Trenton, NS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon investigation of the vehicle, driver and passenger, New Glasgow Regional Police officers arrested a 20-year-old-male and a 16-year-old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a search of the vehicle, New Glasgow Regional Police officers located and seized a Rifle, Stun Baton, Prohibited Knife, Drugs, Alcohol and Drug Paraphernalia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result, the drive, 16-years-of age has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Failure to comply with or Refusal of Demand.
Underage Drinking.
Two Counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Possession of Firearm in a Vehicle.
Two Counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm or Prohibited Weapon,
Unsafe Storage of a Firearm.
Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession Unauthorized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 20-year-old-male passenger has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Illegal Possession of Alcohol.
Three Counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm or Prohibited Weapon,
Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession Unauthorized.
Two Counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Unsafe Storage of a Firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 16-year-old driver has been released under strict conditions and will appear in Provincial Court in Pictou at a later date.
