{"id":7799,"date":"2024-07-10T15:19:23","date_gmt":"2024-07-10T18:19:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=7799"},"modified":"2024-07-10T15:19:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-10T18:19:25","slug":"police-investigate-incident-of-vandalism-in-antigonish-county-tunnel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/07\/10\/police-investigate-incident-of-vandalism-in-antigonish-county-tunnel\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Investigate Incident of Vandalism in Antigonish County Tunnel."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On July 3, Antigonish County District RCMP responded to a report of vandalism in the tunnel that runs under Hwy. 104 in West River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers learned that someone had spray-painted racist graffiti on the roadway and tunnel wall; the graffiti has since been removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators believe that the incident was motivated by hate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RCMP takes incidents of hate with utmost seriousness and condemns these criminal acts. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to contact Antigonish County District RCMP at 902-863-6500.
