{"id":8369,"date":"2024-08-16T13:14:30","date_gmt":"2024-08-16T16:14:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=8369"},"modified":"2024-08-16T13:14:31","modified_gmt":"2024-08-16T16:14:31","slug":"rcmp-is-investigating-a-fatal-collision-that-claimed-two-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/08\/16\/rcmp-is-investigating-a-fatal-collision-that-claimed-two-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"RCMP is Investigating a Fatal Collision That Claimed Two Lives."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Antigonish County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Lower South River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On August&nbsp;16, at approximately&nbsp;12:05&nbsp;a.m., Antigonish County District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a collision near the&nbsp;4000&nbsp;block of Hwy.&nbsp;4. RCMP officers learned that a Dodge Caravan and a Honda Pilot were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the Dodge Caravan, a&nbsp;41-year-old Antigonish woman, was transported by EHS to hospital and later pronounced deceased. Four passengers in this vehicle were also transported to hospital by EHS with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver and only occupant of the Honda Pilot, a&nbsp;58-year-old Afton woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene&nbsp;and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hwy.&nbsp;4&nbsp;was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Source : RCMP Release <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Antigonish County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Lower South River.
