{"id":8640,"date":"2024-09-05T15:46:04","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T18:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=8640"},"modified":"2024-09-05T15:52:43","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T18:52:43","slug":"woman-charged-with-over-50-fraud-related-offences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/09\/05\/woman-charged-with-over-50-fraud-related-offences\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman Charged With Over\u00a050\u00a0Fraud Related Offences."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has charged a woman with more than&nbsp;50&nbsp;fraud related offences that occurred over the past three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August&nbsp;15, RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to the report of fraud involving an employee of a hardware store in Lower Sackville. RCMP officers learned that between&nbsp;2021&nbsp;and August&nbsp;2024&nbsp;the employee forged sick notes and a death certificate to gain paid leave and donations from a fundraiser organized by co-workers following the fictitious death of a loved one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August&nbsp;28, RCMP officers, with assistance from the Street Crime Enforcement Unit of RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, located and arrested the&nbsp;47-year-old Dartmouth woman outside a home on Joseph Young Street in Dartmouth. Identification bearing five different names were found on her person, at the time of the arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That same day, a search warrant was executed at the home. During the search, officers located and seized multiple medical documents, mobile electronic devices, identification cards and an unsecured rifle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alissa Kathryn MacGillivary, also known as Alexandra Ryan, of Dartmouth, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contravention of Storage Regulations (Unsafe storage of a firearm)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fraud Under\u00a0$5,000\u00a0(16\u00a0counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (19\u00a0counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use or Possession of Forged Documents (20\u00a0counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>False Pretence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>She appeared in court and was remanded into custody.
