{"id":8652,"date":"2024-09-05T18:56:56","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T21:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=8652"},"modified":"2024-09-05T18:56:58","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T21:56:58","slug":"rcmp-charge-man-with-serious-offences-following-traffic-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/09\/05\/rcmp-charge-man-with-serious-offences-following-traffic-stop\/","title":{"rendered":"RCMP Charge Man With Serious Offences Following Traffic Stop."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Digby RCMP has charged a man with drug and weapon offences following a traffic stop in Digby County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September&nbsp;1, at approximately&nbsp;7:40&nbsp;p.m., Digby RCMP officers were on route to a non-emergency call when they observed a Ford Taurus near Exit&nbsp;27, Hwy&nbsp;1, with no license plate displayed. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver was identified as Chanse Vancolpitts,&nbsp;23, of Sackville, who was on conditions to not be in Digby County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers arrested Vancolpitts for being in breach of his conditions. During the arrest, officers observed a collapsible baton on the rear seat of the vehicle. In subsequent searches of the vehicle and Vancolpitts, officers located and seized a quantity of substance believed to be cocaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vancolpitts has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Failure to Comply with Undertaking (five counts). He was remanded into custody and appeared in Digby Provincial Court on September&nbsp;3. Vancolpitts was released by the court on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Digby Provincial Court on October&nbsp;7&nbsp;at&nbsp;9:30&nbsp;a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source : RCMP Release <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Digby RCMP has charged a man with drug and weapon offences following a traffic stop in Digby County.
