{"id":9321,"date":"2024-10-22T09:39:16","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T12:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=9321"},"modified":"2024-10-22T09:39:17","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T12:39:17","slug":"two-people-facing-multiple-charges-after-serious-incident-at-a-residence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/10\/22\/two-people-facing-multiple-charges-after-serious-incident-at-a-residence\/","title":{"rendered":"Two People Facing Multiple Charges After Serious Incident at a Residence."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has charged two people with a number of offences following an incident in East Preston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October&nbsp;19, at approximately&nbsp;11&nbsp;a.m., RCMP officers responded to an assault and weapons complaint at a home on Upper Partridge River Rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon arrival at the residence, officers arrested&nbsp;34-year-old Andre Thomas of East Preston without incident. Officers later executed a search warrant at the home and seized six firearms, two of which were loaded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas is facing several charges, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assault by Choking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assault (three counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (two counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (six counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unsafe Storage of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carrying a Concealed Weapon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas was remanded into custody and appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October&nbsp;21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;35-year old woman was also arrested at the residence and will face firearms charges.
