{"id":9355,"date":"2024-10-23T15:21:33","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T18:21:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=9355"},"modified":"2024-10-23T15:21:34","modified_gmt":"2024-10-23T18:21:34","slug":"33-year-old-man-charged-with-stunting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/10\/23\/33-year-old-man-charged-with-stunting\/","title":{"rendered":"33 Year Old Man Charged With Stunting."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Police lay stunting charges<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halifax Regional Police has charged a driver for stunting yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 22, at approximately 12:45 p.m. a member of the Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on highway 102 outbound near Hammonds Plains. The officer observed the vehicle\u2019s speed at 165 km\/h in a 100 km\/h zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 33-year-old man was ticketed for stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km\/h over the speed limit. The fine in Nova Scotia for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver\u2019s record. In addition, the driver was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was seized. The driver was also issued a summary offence ticket for failing to display driver\u2019s license on demand of peace officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues and educate citizens on the rules of the road, our officers focus on speed enforcement. We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe.
