{"id":9380,"date":"2024-10-24T13:35:21","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T16:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=9380"},"modified":"2024-10-24T13:35:21","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T16:35:21","slug":"man-charged-with-multiple-serious-offenses-following-traffic-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/10\/24\/man-charged-with-multiple-serious-offenses-following-traffic-stop\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Charged With Multiple Serious Offenses Following Traffic Stop."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A traffic stop by the Nova Scotia RCMP\u2019s Southeast Traffic Services (SETS) on Highway 101 has resulted in numerous charges and the seizure of a restricted firearm, drugs, illegal tobacco, and cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On October 23 at approximately 1:55 p.m., an officer with SETS was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 101 in Upper Sackville and queried the license plate of a passing Dodge Ram, showing it to be unregistered. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was determined to have a revoked driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the course of the Motor Vehicle Act investigation, the officer observed a quantity of unstamped tobacco cigarettes in the vehicle, and the driver was arrested under the Excise Act.
