{"id":9739,"date":"2024-11-19T20:50:51","date_gmt":"2024-11-19T23:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=9739"},"modified":"2024-11-19T20:52:28","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T23:52:28","slug":"68-year-old-woman-ticketed-for-stunting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2024\/11\/19\/68-year-old-woman-ticketed-for-stunting\/","title":{"rendered":"68-Year-Old Woman Ticketed For Stunting, Travelling Over Double Posted Speed."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Police lay stunting charges<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halifax Regional Police has charged a driver for stunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On November 18 at approximately 9:20 a.m., a member of the Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 118 inbound near the intersection of Woodland Avenue. The officer observed the vehicle\u2019s speed at 126 km\/h in a posted 60 km\/h zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 68-year-old woman was ticketed for stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km\/h over the speed limit. The fine in Nova Scotia for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver\u2019s record. In addition, the driver was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was seized. The driver was also issued a summary offence ticket for failing to display driver\u2019s license on demand of peace officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues and educate citizens on the rules of the road, our officers focus on speed enforcement. We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe.
