Halifax Regional Police has charged a driver for stunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On November 18 at approximately 9:20 a.m., a member of the Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 118 inbound near the intersection of Woodland Avenue. The officer observed the vehicle\u2019s speed at 126 km\/h in a posted 60 km\/h zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 68-year-old woman was ticketed for stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km\/h over the speed limit. The fine in Nova Scotia for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver\u2019s record. In addition, the driver was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was seized. The driver was also issued a summary offence ticket for failing to display driver\u2019s license on demand of peace officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
