New Glasgow Regional Police charge a man following flight from police.
New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a man after his vehicle failed to stop for police in New Glasgow.
On May 29, 2025, at approximately 10:47 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police officers observed a white Chevrolet truck travelling in the area of Elm Street with unregistered licence plates. A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a stop sign. In the interest of public safety, a pursuit was not initiated.
Several minutes later officers observed the vehicle again on the Granton-Abercrombie Road and attempted a second traffic stop. For the second time in the interest of public safety, a pursuit was not initiated.
Upon investigation, officers were able to identify the driver, where he was arrested at approximately 11:50 a.m., in Westville, Nova Scotia at a Grant Street residence.
The suspect a 29, year-old male driver from Pictou County has been charged with:
Flight from Police
Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle
Driving a Motor Vehicle without Insurance
Driving while Revoked
The suspect was released on conditions and will be appearing in Pictou Provincial Court on August 25th 2025.
