New Glasgow, Nova Scotia – August 13, 2025 – On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a complaint of a disturbance at the Africentric Heritage Park on Vale Road, New Glasgow.
Upon arrival, officers identified a group of individuals engaged in a dispute regarding the appropriate and acceptable use of this historic space. Police assisted in de-escalating the situation. At this time, no charges are anticipated.
The Africentric Heritage Park is a sacred space that commemorates the past, reflects on the present, and provides a foundation for the cultural future of Nova Scotians of African descent. New Glasgow Regional Police recognize the cultural significance of this location and urge all community members to treat such areas with respect and dignity.
