Woman Facing Multiple Serious Charges After Incident at Store.

On August 30 at approximately 12 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a Needs Convenience store on Duffus Street in Halifax. A woman entered the store, demanded money and threatened to inject an employee with drugs. After a brief physical altercation, the employee was able to safely run out of the store and lock the suspect inside. The employee was not physically injured.

The suspect then threw the cash register at the glass front door, shattering it.

Police arrested Kaily Kathleen Walkden, 29, on scene. She is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
  • Mischief
  • Obstruct public-peace officer
  • Bail violations (x2)
