Youth Charged With Serious Offences Following Online Investigation.
The RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section has charged a youth with offences related to child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM) and the publishing of obscene material.
In March 2026, the RCMP Community Action Response Team (CART) was notified by the RCMP’s Ideologically Motivated Criminal Intelligence Team in Ottawa of a youth who was active on several online forums associated with violent and harmful content.
On April 15, members of the RCMP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of RCMP CART, the RCMP/HRP Integrated Internet Child Exploitation Unit, and Halifax Regional Police Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant at a residence in Kinsac. A youth was safely arrested, and several electronic devices were seized.
The youth has been charged with:
- Possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
- Accessing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
- Making, Printing, Publishing, or Distributing Obscene Matter
The youth appeared in Halifax Provincial Youth Court on April 16 and was released on conditions pending a future court appearance.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section.
