Armed Forces Removes Military Ordinance That Washed Up With Tides.

Public advisory: Colchester County District RCMP is at Beachcomber Lane in Portapique supporting the Canadian Armed Forces with the safe removal of a found explosive device in the water. The explosive device appears to be an old military ordinance that washed up with the tides.

There will be a small police and military presence in the area.

There is no risk to public safety provided all directions from police and military on scene are followed.

People in the area can expect to hear a muffled explosion, similar to the sound of a gunshot, while the removal is taking place.

Criminality is not believed to be a factor.
