One Person Deceased, Another Person Missing After Boating Incident on Lake.
A 70-year-old Aylesford man is dead and a 58-year-old Aylesford man remains missing after a boating incident on Aylesford Lake in Kings County.
Emergency crews responded at about 4:45 p.m. on July 1 after receiving a report that people had been ejected from a boat. RCMP say five Kings County men were aboard when changing water conditions caused two passengers to be thrown into the lake.
An uninvolved boater located the 70-year-old man in the water. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The search continues for the missing 58-year-old man. Assisting in the effort are the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), Valley Ground Search and Rescue, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), and the Nova Scotia RCMP Underwater Recovery Team. Police say there will be a significant first-responder presence around Aylesford Lake as the search and investigation continue.
The three other men aboard the boat were not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing.
